Personal Data Protection

The Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 25,326) is a public order regulation that regulates the activity of databases that record personal information. Its purpose is to guarantee people control over the use of their personal data.

The owner of the personal data has the power to exercise the right of access to them free of charge at intervals of not less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is accredited for that purpose in accordance with the provisions of article 14, paragraph 3 of the Law No. 25,326.

The National Directorate for the Protection of Personal Data, Control Body of Law No. 25,326, has the power to deal with complaints and claims that are filed in relation to non-compliance with the rules on protection of personal data.
