We were part of the webinar "Implementation of the Leniency Program in Argentina and the region" held virtually by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services.
At the meeting, organized by the Foreign Trade and International Relations departments of the CAC, specialists compared the Argentine experience with those of Chile and Colombia and presented the main aspects of the Leniency Program in Argentina. After the opening by Gonzalo de León, Institutional Director of the CAC, the following spoke: Ignacio Larraín, Partner at Estudio Vial, Larraín & Femenías in Chile; Carlos Esguerra, Partner at Estudio Bermudez & Esguerra in Colombia; Federico Volujewicz, Antitrust and Compliance Counsel at Estudio De Dios & Goyena in Argentina; and in her role as moderator Natacha Gedwillo, President of the Economic Competition Commission of ICC Argentina. The figure grants the benefit of exemption or reduction of fines to those persons, human or legal, who recognize anti-competitive conduct before the National Commission for the Defense of Competition. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the program is provided for in Law 27,442 on the Defense of Competition, in force since 2018, and as of Resolution 98/2024 of the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce, the Leniency Program becomes regulated and in force.
