We attended the "Universal Standards Update Launch" held in a web conference format.
Organized by the Global Report Initiative, a major update to the GRI Standards was presented, including the launch of the first Sector Standard, which will strengthen the very foundations of all reporting through GRI. The updated Universal Standards will enable the highest level of transparency for organizational impacts on the economy, the environment and people. Greater guidance in determining material topics and greater clarity on reporting principles, requirements, and structure will ensure that GRI reporting is more consistent and comparable globally than ever before. The updated Universal Standards will mean that GRI provides the first and only comprehensive global reporting standards that fully reflect due diligence expectations for sustainability impacts, including those relating to human rights, as set out in authoritative intergovernmental instruments. of the UN and the OECD. They will also help any business respond to emerging regulatory changes and increasing stakeholder demands for sustainability disclosure, including expectations related to dual materiality.
